Energy efficiency in housing in Serbia
In the framework of a government-to-government project between the Netherlands and Serbia, Mark van Wees facilitates the exchange of best practices on the implementation of the National Sustainable Development Strategy in general. Focus is on energy efficiency policy in housing.

Market studies energy efficiency Lithuania and Kazahkstan for the EBRD (2008)
As a subcontractor to Tebodin, Mark van Wees has contributed to an EBRD assignment. The market conditions for for energy efficiency in the residential and public sector was investigated in preparation for establishing an EBRD credit line.

Energy efficient lighting and the carbon market (ongoing)
In a continuing assignment for Philips Lighting, Mark van Wees in cooperation with Ecofys investigated the potential of energy efficient lighting projects under the Clean Development Mechanism. The services include market and country assessments, project evaluations, and advise on CDM methodologies.

Energy efficiency renovation in condominiums Bulgaria (ongoing)
In partnership with the Bulgarian Housing Association, CAP SD investigates the potential for building-level renovation of condominiums in Bulgaria. The financing requirements and the demand for the EBRD credit line are addressed. Client: EBRD.

Potential of carbon financing and Green Investment Schemes in energy efficiency in housing (2009)
The Dutch International Garantuees in Housing (DIGH) provides financing to renovation projects and new contruction in Central and Eastern Europe. This always leads to substantial energy efficiency improvements and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. CAP SD has investigated the potential of carbon financing including Green Investment Schemes in co-financing energy efficiency in housing.

Review of energy efficiency legislation in Kazakhstan (2010)

In cooperation with SQ Consult, Mark van Wees is reviewing the draft energy efficiency legislation in Kazakhstan. He will recommend on the effectiveness of regulatory measures in all end-use sectors and on the introduction of standards.
