The World Summit for Sustainable Development WSSD in 2002 puts sustainable development higher on the political agenda in many countries.
From its core expertise in energy and climate CAP SD carries out policy research into the complex coherence of the different sustainability themes with the stress on the global dimension.
CAP SD works from its core expertise in the fields of energy and climate. CAP SD advises on the integration of sustainability objectives in other related policy fields, like energy and climate change. We support companies on carbon strategy and carbon neutrality.
Experience
CAP SD has experience in a large number of policy fields which are important for global sustainability. We can also bring in expertise from SQ Consult, an international network of experts in all fields of sustainability with a large track record advising public bodies in the Netherlands and Europe on sustainable energy policies.
SQ team members have broad expertise on the various aspects of sustainable energy technologies especially energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies, but also CHP, transmission & distribution, fossil-fired power generation, gas supply and CCS.
Clients and Regions
CAP SD has addressed sustainability on both a local, company and global level. For example, CAP SD has supported the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency and in setting up a global sustainable development programme. Mark van Wees has assisted Dutch companies in assessing the company’s and product footprint (with Ecofys).
In the Netherlands, Mark has investigated the potential for local sustainable energy companies for Agentschap NL (with SQ Consult). Other clients include Philips Electronics supporting their corporate carbon management strategy (with Ecofys).
