Energy efficiency in housing in Serbia (ongoing)
In the framework of a government-to-government prohect between the Netherlands and Serbia, Mark van Wees facilitates the exchange of best practices on the implementation of the National Sustainable Development Strategy in general and energy efficiency policy in housing in particular. Client: Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs/RIVM.

Market studies energy efficiency Lithuania and Kazahkstan for the EBRD (2008)
As a subcontractor to Tebodin, Mark van Wees has contributed to an EBRD assignment. The market conditions for for energy efficiency in the residential and public sector was investigated in preparation for establishing an EBRD credit line. Client: Tebodin/EBRD.

Energy efficient lighting and the carbon market (ongoing)
In a continuing assignment for Philips Lighting, Mark van Wees (in cooperation with Ecofys) investigated the potential of energy efficient lighting projects under the Clean Development Mechanism. The services include market and country assessments, project evaluations, and advise on CDM methodologies.

Energy efficiency and sustainable housing management in Romania and Bulgaria (2005-2009)
CAP SP supported Foundation Housing Plus in the management of a cooperation between Dutch and Bulgarian organisations in the housing sector. The project was funded by the Matra programme of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also expertise on energy efficiency in housing was provided. The project supported the newly established Bulgarian Union of Homeowners' Associations CAC, and the Romanian national federation of homeowners HAL.

Social housing in Armenia and Romania (ongoing)

In many Central and Eastern European countries, thee is a strong need to develop a social rental sector to accommodate the housing requirements of low to middle income groups. CAP SD has contributed and managed bilateral project aiming at transferring Dutch expertise in social housing. Cooperation was with Housing+, DIGH and social housing organisations in the Netherlands.

Urban regeneration in Romania (2007-2008)
There is a strong demand in Central and Eastern Europe for learning from the Dutch experience in integrated urban planning to support urban regeneration. The objective of the project, supported by the Matra Programme of the Dutch Government, was a contribution to the long-term improvement of the living conditions in the urban areas in Romania.
