As a member of the Board of Foundation Friends of Toamasina, Mark van Wees supports the development of responsible ecotourism in the east of Madagascar. The project has been elected as one of five best African projects by NCDO. The aim of the project is to reduce poverty and promote sustainable agriculture through eco-tourism. Mark has supported fundraising and business development. Foundation Friends of Toamasina is the Dutch support group of the project.
